Biography
The skipper.
James joined Camrea as a 14-year-old in 2008 and made his senior debut six years later. A composed top-order batter and useful change bowler, he was named captain of the 1sts in 2022.
Known for setting the tempo with the bat and leading the team's community work off the field, Whitaker is widely regarded as one of the most respected leaders in Melbourne club cricket.
Outside the club, James is a primary school teacher and runs the club's Friday-night juniors clinic.
